update on tgv.europe

I note that we were charged in € for our eurostar train. Today I booked our Paris-Dijon leg and was also charged in €.  So it seems that we are not being referred to the Australian train office for bookings.

More planning info

Photos can wait, but for more pics of our selected Paris apartment that we have used before go to

This will be our first visit to England in more than 25 years, and our current plan is to rail it immediately from Heathrow Terminal 4 to Portsmouth Harbour (via British rail Waterloo). Present intention is to use the tube for the first leg on the basis of the helpful planner instructions here:

England France

Planning sans agent
Mostly an agent gives value for complex air routes and transfers.  This trip will be diy.
Buying a return ticket Mel-Lhr/CDG- Mel from Qatar after confirming price competitiveness was a snip.
tgv europe this year demanded my country and then transferred me to the Australian vendor. Price seemed roughly equivalent though no specials were visible. Print at home ticket worked fine.
www.homelidays.co.uk    and http://www.bedandbreakfast.com/london-england.html provided good apartment and B&B accom for direct booking in Paris and London respectively.
A short search located a house in rural Burgundy through   http://www.vrbo.com  and the itinerary is nearly done.
